SHELD Light Board

Cheryl Scott Nickl, Chair

Cheryl Scott Nickl has served on the SHELD Board since 1992. An educator for more than 25 years, she currently teaches mathematics at the Junior/Senior High School in Granby. She holds a bachelor’s degree in business administration with a concentration in labor management and accounting from Western New England College in Springfield, and a master’s degree in teaching from Our Lady of the Elms College in Chicopee.

Rita M. Lawler

Rita M. Lawler was elected to the Light Board in 2005. She and her late husband, longtime SHELD board member Tim Lawler, owned and operated Lawler Construction Corp. in South Hadley for many years. Mrs. Lawler also operated a dance studio in Holyoke, and has been an active volunteer and board member for many local organizations.

Jeffrey Labrecque

Jeffrey Labrecque joined the Light Board in 2007. Currently the Chief Operating Officer for Center Redevelopment Corporation, he has more than 25 years experience in the overall management, leasing, and operations of shopping centers. He is a Massachusetts Certified Construction Supervisor, and has completed related study at Springfield Technical Community College and Berkshire Community College.
