2025 SHELD Home Heating + Cooling Rebates

South Hadley Electric Light Department (SHELD) offers rebates on heat pump systems. Please note that all heat pumps must be installed by a licensed contractor to be eligible for a rebate. Eligible heat pump systems must be purchased between January 1, 2025 and December 31, 2025 and applications postmarked by January 31, 2026.

• Eligibility for Rebate:

     • Applicant must be a current SHELD electric customer

     • Maximum heat pump rebate is $2,250 per address, per calendar year

     • Maximum central air rebate is $1,000.00 per address, per calendar year

     • All installed equipment must be new

     • AHRI Certificate must be submitted (can be obtained from contractor or ahridirectory.org

     • Copies of all dated invoices and receipts must be submitted

     • All required information in rebate application must be received

     • All rebates up to $750.00 will be applied as an on-bill credit, all rebates exceeding $750.00 will be mailed via a check to the account holder on file.

     • Equipment must meet minimum efficiency standards in table below:

     • SHELD reserves the right to limit, approve, or deny applications

     • Contractors do not qualify

     • New construction builds do not qualify

     • The purpose of this program is to incentivize upgrades to energy efficient appliances/systems, the equipment installed must be an upgrade to an existing appliance/system already in the property
  

Restrictions for rebate:
    • Heat pumps must be installed by a licensed contractor (self-installations are not eligible)
    • Eversource natural gas customers are not eligible
